Transportation Information

Morning Procedures

Buses arrive around 7:30 am and drop off at the front entrance. They load at the same place in the afternoons. Bus riders are called to exit the building at 2:15. Students should walk quickly and quietly to their bus.

If you have questions regarding bus routes, the bus office number is 397-1161. The Supervisor for the Pickens area is Monica Cox, 878-8705.

Car riders should be dropped off in the morning at the front entrance. Students should not be dropped off before 7:30 am since the building remains locked until then. In the afternoon students may be picked up at the same place.

Afternoon Procedures

Afternoon car riders are called up after buses have left. They are to come to the front and sit quietly with their grade level on the benches. The principal or his designee will call student's names as their ride approaches and tell them to which station they should go to wait. (Station numbers are on the walkway's columns.) When their ride stops, a safety patrol member or teacher will assist them by opening and shutting the car door for them.

IMPORTANT Transportation change!!!!
Due to the increase in the number of car riders, our plan is to change our car line so as not to impact traffic on Hwy. 8. We will have 3 separate lanes as you enter the campus. Two lanes will loop near the tree line and merge into one lane. This will enable us to load 8 cars at a time. This is a temporary solution for this year while civil engineers are developing a permanent solution to our traffic problem by next school year. Bus riders will be dismissed at 2:15 so that car riders can begin loading around 2:20. If parents would like to wait until 2:45 to pick up children, we encourage you to do this in order to lessen the number of cars on campus at 2:30. Thank you for your patience as we work on a safe dismissal procedure for all children.
