Grading Scales
Kindergarten and Grade 1
The progress of students for reading/language arts, math, and personal/social growth will be based on a district/state defined checklist of first grade standards using three levels. The three levels will be
R (Rarely or Never Demonstrates), ST (Sometimes Demonstrates), C (Consistently Demonstrates).
The three levels will provide consistency with the new state assessment instrument.
Physical education, art, and music will be evaluated based on participation using
E (Excellent), S (Satisfactory), N (Needs Improvement), or U (Unsatisfactory).
Grades 2 – 5
The state-defined numerical grading scale (below) will be used on the report card.
A 100-93 Excellent
B 92-85 Above Average
C 84-77 Average
D 76-70 Below Average
F 69 & Below Failing
I Incomplete
Physical education, art, and music will be evaluated based on participation using
E (Excellent), S (Satisfactory), N (Needs Improvement), or U (Unsatisfactory).
A general conduct grade will be given, using only S (Satisfactory), N (Needs
Improvement), or U (Unsatisfactory).
